Wayne R. deTorres, MD, FACS

Dr. de Torres received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Rutgers University. After working in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed internship training in general surgery at the National Naval Medical Center (Walter Reed) in Bethesda, Maryland before serving honorably as a General Medical Officer with the Atlantic Fleet in the U.S Navy. Following military service, he completed residency training in surgery and urology at The University of North Carolina. Working in private practice since 1996, he has active interest in the areas of preventative health and treatment of oncology, stone disease, voiding dysfunction, and prostate disease.
Dr. de Torres is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of several professional medical organizations and has held numerous leadership positions in the local medical community.
